About me
"My work emphasises, by distortion, the dynamics of the human figure giving the sculpture an expressionistic or abstract tendency. I am inspired by the body's ability to communicate its emotional state through posture and gesture. I am interested in the juxtaposition of relaxation with tension and a monumental style with intimate detail. I use sharp lines with soft curves and simplified forms to express these concerns."Originating from the academic city of Cambridge, Sally studied Painting and Ceramics at Cheltenham, subsequently returning to Cambridge to study an MA in Arts Management. Sally has worked at various arts organisations including the Cube Gallery and the Arnolfini in Bristol. She has been creating sculpture for over 5 years and during that time her work has been exhibited at prestigious galleries across the UK.
Enchanted by the beauty of the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, Sally now works and lives with her husband and two young sons near Chepstow, in her adoptive county of Gloucestershire.
